40 Weeks Of Love: A Pregnancy Guide
Getting ready for a new pregnancy is a scary, but wonderful time in your life. There seem to be so many things to do, so much to learn, so many appointments to remember. We keep doing it though for the awesome payoff at the end. Here's some tips to make your pregnancy as easy as can be.
If you wish to give birth vaginally after having a c-section, make sure you ask if your hospital will allow it before the big day arrives. Some hospitals will not allow vaginal births after cesareans (VBACs), which are considered riskier due to the possibility of uterine rupture. Checking ahead of time means no surprises on your child's birthday.
If you are one of the unfortunate ones that suffer from heartburn while pregnant, there are over-the-counter remedies that you can take. Most of these will contain magnesium or calcium, and should ease your discomfort. As with any medicine you take during pregnancy, discuss this with your health care provider.
It is very common for a woman's feet to swell during pregnancy and for them to go up a shoe size, especially in the third trimester. Wearing flat shoes at this stage will be more comfortable than high heels so look at purchasing a new pair of shoes for this short period of your life.
If you are pregnant, make sure to elevate your feet when you are resting at home. This helps to prevent swelling and take away the pains that pregnancy causes in the feet. Lay on your back, place at least 2 pillows underneath your feet and then put your feet up.
You can combine these tips with 20 different books and still not be ready for everything that is to come. The important thing is to keep on learning and keep yourself healthy and happy. Soon you will have a beautiful new baby in your life, and all this work will have been worth it.
